Paddlers for Life provide the boats, paddles, and buoyancy aids. Once you become an established paddler you may wish to buy your own buoyancy aid and paddle.

5. How old do I have to be to take part?
Over 12 years of age – no upper limit.

6. Do I have to be able to swim?
It is always an advantage to be able to swim, if you cannot we need to be aware of this before you get in the boat. We have a ‘buddy’ safety routine on the boats and your ‘buddy’ would need to know.

Training is based around the Sheffield Hallam Programme, and carried out both out of season and when on the water.
New entrants are requested to undertake an assessment before being committed to full time paddling.
